The Beaconsfield Project opened in 1992. The Project is managed by County Durham Care, which is the part of Durham County Council, Social Services Department. We provide community based day care support to people who are experiencing enduring mental ill-health. The service is rehabilitative and preventative in nature and based on responding to individual needs.
Our aim is to help people who have experienced the debilitating effects of breakdown to maximize their potential and improve their quality of life. Programmes of intervention are designed in partnership with service users to meet identified needs and may include individual support and/or participation in a range of group based activities.
